This is a blog about a journey to foreign lands away from the dark and cold of my home. It is about the places and the secrets they unfold. It is about the people and the wisdom they possess. But most of all it is an internal journey about the discoveries, revelations and insights I am bound to experience.
Because, as much as travelling and seeing new places entices me, it also frightens me. Who am I kidding? It terrifies me. On the outside I may be a grown man, but on the inside there's a scared, little boy staring at the world with bewildered eyes.
I will spend three months travelling in South East Asia, making a short visit to Istanbul, Turkey on the way and back. My Asian journey will start in Thailand from where I'll move south to Malaysia, then Singapore, Vietnam and Cambodia. The trip ends back in Thailand and Turkey.
Only nine days until takeoff. I'll face my fears head on.
